Smart TVs have built-in Wi-Fi and built-in apps for streaming movies and TV shows directly from subscription services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu. Most newer TVs are "smart."

If you subscribe to Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, a 4K TV will let you take full advantage of the great-looking streaming 4K content available through those services. 4K content has four times more picture detail than HD. Plus, most 4K TVs support HDR (High Dynamic Range), which boosts contrast and color for a more lifelike picture.
