What is a dedicated car satellite radio?

The SiriusXM SXV300V1 tuner works with your satellite radio-ready in-dash stereo.
If you're thinking about adding SiriusXM satellite radio to your car and you have an aftermarket car stereo, consider going with a dedicated car satellite radio tuner, like the SiriusXM SXV300V1. This compact "black box" receives the satellite signal from an antenna that you mount on your vehicle's roof, and then sends it to your car stereo. The big benefit in adding a dedicated car satellite radio tuner is that all the controls for satellite radio are on your aftermarket car stereo. You can see the artist, song title, and other station information on the display of the stereo, and you'll be able to save your stations on presets, just like AM and FM stations.
Car stereo model-specific
To use a dedicated car satellite radio, you have to use a car stereo that is compatible with the satellite tuner. You’ll want to confirm that your car stereo has the "SiriusXM Ready™" logo.
Connecting the radio
A single cable connects the satellite radio to your stereo. This cable provides power to the radio, and sends the satellite radio signal to the in-dash stereo. Because it's a direct, high-grade connection, you'll get the best sound quality out of all the options you have for satellite radio.
Mounting the satellite radio
The satellite radio tuner can be mounted out of sight, such as under a seat, in the glove box, or even behind the car stereo. Once you've hooked everything up, you have no need to access it. You have to connect the cable that goes to the stereo and the wire from the antenna you've mounted on the roof.

i HAVE A 2015 FORD EDGE without sirius radio or the ford sync system, basic bare bones edge. what would I need to get Sirius radio in the vehicle/

Les, Depending on the radio in your truck, you might be able to enjoy SiriusXM through their smartphone app. It'll use the device's data plan, though, so check on that before you stream hours of music. all i need is the antenna .i have an xm radio in my tyruck and one in my office ,so i want to switch one of them to my car because i cannot afford to pay for a third radio service right now.

Jesse, The SXV300 is not compatible with most factory satellite radio antennas. You'll need to use the antenna that comes with the SXV300. Give us a call and we'll help you find a receiver that'll work in your car, too.

I have a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg that currently has satellite radio. I'd like to upgrade the radio, for Apple Carplay, and still keep the satellite. Can I use the vehicle's existing satellite antenna if I were to purchase an aftermarket radio and then add a Sirius SXV300V1 tuner module?

Ryan, The SXV300V1 works exclusively with aftermarket in-dash receivers that have a "SiriusXM-Ready" logo. A "dock and play" SiriusXM satellite radio would be the best choice if you're planning to keep the stock radio.

My dedicated radio says "SIRIUS READY" and I have a Sirius subscription but all the tuners say Sirius/Xm. Can I use these tuners or do I have to find a Sirius tuner?

I have a 2003 Chevy Avalanche with the factory radio and it does have XM, but I am putting in the alpine iLX-W650 I got here using the factory amp. My question is if I put in the SXV300V1 to hav it on the aftermarket radio, can I use the factory antenna or do I have to use the provided one?

I have an '07 Saab 9-3 convertible with Siurusxm, I want to change the head unit but keep Siursuxm. If I get a HU that's xm ready do I still need to purchase the xm tuner?

Buying a 2017 Nissan Frontier with a non XM radio. I am planning on replacing it with the XM ready version which is Nissan OEM and approved for the truck. My question is can I simply add an XM roof mount antenna and be good to go? or do I need the XVM300 as well? Thank you for your assistance.

I have a 2006 Chrysler 300c with nav and sattelite radio. Looking to replace with multimedia reciever w/o nav but with sattelite radio. Is there anyway to adapt my existing antenna system? Or, will this require fonding some way to mount a new antenna?

I leased a 2019 Hyundai Sonata. Much to my surprise SiriusXM was not. Included. I am getting a runaround form the dealer. They are telling me that's they way it comes, no satellite. Yes I know about apple play, but I want SiriusXM built in to the head unit. It there any souution.

Hi Jon, I have a 2011 Subaru Outback with the stock Panasonic 96201AJ64A stereo/head unit. The radio face has a 'SAT' button next to the AM/FM options but is not 'siriusxm ready'. I am struggling to find the correct tuner and adapter cable needed to get satellite radio up and running - If my only option is to go with the dock and play, I will probably just forego altogether but I assume there must be a way to install satellite radio into the existing unit 'behind the dash' since it has the 'SAT' option on the radio face. Any thoughts?

I have a 2012 Ford Escape with factory installed Sirius satellite radio. Sirius reception in this area is spotty compared to the Sirius XM radio in my daughter's car and the add on XM unit that I had in my last car. Is there any way short of replacing the whole radio that I can convert to XM?

Hi Friend, I have a motorcyle that I had a Delphi XM Roady2, I sold it and bought a 06 Suzuki Boulevard. Wanting to know if this Roady2 can still be used? Also I know I need speakers, do you have those available? I also have the XM cassette adapter, do you have something that replaces this? I MISS MY MUSIC!!!
